I am a huge fan of the video game. I easily have a collective 500 hours in this game. I have beaten it on lethal plus, all curses on. So when I saw mini katana was selling an adaptation of the main characters katana, I was ecstatic. It seemed mini katana really have this thing the love it deserved. I bought the sharp version. I love the look of the sheath, from the raised detail of the clouds to the subtle blue lining and the attention to detail with the habaki having the Sakai clan logo just like in the game. Except, that is not what this katana looks like. I believe this is what the collectors edition looks like and mini katana sold this katana with the product shots of the collectors edition katana. I thought that the only thing setting this one and the collectors edition apart was the quality of steel, however, it turns out the form factor of the entire katana is different. It is clear they just put a graphic of what the design should look like over one of their standard sheaths because I got the sea glass katana for Christmas and the sheaths are the exact same shape. This is not the katana I thought I was buying, the product shots lie about what you are buying. It is just disappointing because they are already out of stock on the collectors edition so it isn't like I can get the katana I wanted, and now I am stuck with a katana that isn't the one I wanted. One that is visually in-accurate to the source material. I didn't buy the collectors edition because I thought the only difference was the steel, not the entire katana, I bought this for the visual look of it and I am left disappointed and lied to. I have no need for a Damascus katana and I do not want a product that lies about what it is in the product photo.
I ordered this katana minutes after it was announced. Just got it and is not what I ordered and oh my God so many problems with it. Lightning bolts are poorly painted on, Sakai logo on the sheath is painted on and in white not gold, on the tsuba (metal part that holds the sheath closed I think?). Is supposed to have the logo, but doesn't. The clouds aren't metal the gold bit in the handle is not there and there's weird brown bits in it, there's no plastic/metal piece at the bottom of the sheath, the biggest issue being the very bad paint job on the sheath that wasn't on the product images and the blade doesn't look like it was made the way katanas are supposed to be made (the folding technique. VERY dissatisfied by this order and I clearly see the katana is now sold out. I put in a ticket and explained it, and am awaiting response.

The Katana is very beautiful and I love it but unfortunately it’s not like on the photos, I think the show the collectors edition. The saya isn’t so high/quality as it looks on these picture. But besides that I can’t complain, would buy it again!
It’s a amazing looking blade very accurate to the game too.

Opening the box was purely amazing. The craftmanship just from the carrying case to the wrap of the katana.
The sword with the stand looks fantastic, the hard work put into it really shows. A great collection to my wall!
Amazing sword
I originally bought the sword in the picture but received the wrong sword. Then when I sent it back, I got the wrong sword again. When I checked the website again, the image changed and was offered to either get a $20 gift card or a replacement sword of the same price (which I brought up the idea of). The costumers service is good but I had to wait around 3 weeks for both of the wrong swords and I the replacement isn't in stock so I likely won't get it until early March.
