Fog swirls through the broken museum doors. The grumbling of the horde continues to rise as they search for an entry point. Scott waves toward the weapons display, and his team of five hurriedly starts loading their bags with anything they can carry.
 
"Boss, we're good..."
 
Scott slips back toward the wall as the horde finds the broken door and starts pushing in. "Get gone, then. I'll meet you in the Underground."
 
Scott waits until the last of his team is safely away, then spies a box of weapons that never got to be displayed. One blade remains. He grabs the kukri and quickly uses it to slice a rope holding a village display in the air. The display falls and slams down in front of the horde, and Scott makes a fast escape after his team.

This sharpened, full-tang blade has a forward-curved 65Mn (manganese) steel blade in a kukri style, an imitation leather rope-wrapped handle, and an imitation leather cover. It measures 20.07" long and 3.93" wide. It comes with a single sword stand.

Can I bring it to a convention?

Most conventions ban sharp blades. For cosplay at events, choose a dull, foam, or plastic option and always check the venue's weapons policy first.

How do I care for my blade?

  1. Wipe the 65Mn steel blade with a soft, dry cloth after handling. Fingerprints carry moisture and salts.
  2. Apply a thin coat of protective oil every few weeks, more often in humid climates. Carbon steel rusts if neglected, and the worn finish won't stop new rust.
  3. Don't store it in its imitation leather cover for long periods in damp places, since a cover can trap moisture against the blade.
  4. Check now and then that the rope-wrapped handle is snug, and stop handling it if anything feels loose.
