The mighty Egyptian Khopesh

The Khopesh is a unique, curved blade with roots in the ancient Near East. It became closely associated with the New Kingdom of ancient Egypt, wielded by pharaohs like Ahmose, Thutmose III, Tutankhamun, and Ramesses II. In the New Kingdom, it became a symbol of royal power and Egyptian warfare. The cutting edge follows the outer curve, providing powerful slashing actions. The inner curve could be used to catch an opponent's shield, arm, or other equipment.

The Khopesh appeared in battle scenes and was among the many treasures in the tomb of Tutanhamen. Used next to bows, spears, axes, and chariots, the khopesh eventually faded as other forms of swords became popular. It remains one of the most unmistakable symbols of conquest and a pharaoh's power.

Our Khopesh is robust, crafted from sharpened 65 Manganese Steel, with a full tang and ergonomic grip. The faux leather sheath provides security and an authentic look. It's an ideal addition to any historical sword collection.

How big is the Khopesh Sword?

It is a full-length replica: 24.02 inches overall with a 14.57-inch blade.

How should I care for my sword?

After handling, wipe the 65 Manganese steel blade dry and keep it indoors, away from humidity. A light coat of oil helps if you live in a damp climate. Do not store it wet in the sheath, and do not use it for striking or sparring.

Will the Khopesh work for cosplay and display?

It can, but it is sharp. You'll need to keep others safe, including children. Because it is sharp, it is unlikely to be allowed at events and conventions. Always check event rules before packing.

Is the khopesh sharp?

The edge is sharpened, so treat it as a real blade: keep it sheathed, store it safely, and do not swing it around people or pets.
