Lights flash in the truck stop diner as the last of the generator's power runs out. No one has eaten here in months, but four unlucky teenagers are hiding behind a broken table. The horde wanders outside, trying to find a way in.

One pushes through a cracked window, and the teenagers flinch, sure this is the end. Just as the rest of the glass shatters, an incessant clanging sound captures the horde's attention. Niki, the diner's long-time cook, emerges from the kitchen in grimy fatigues, slamming a butcher blade against a pot. She jumps up on the counter, and the horde heads in her direction.

The teens scramble through the kitchen and find Niki's dusty truck already running in the abandoned car wash. She runs out of the back and jumps into the truck bed, holding a remote in her hand. After a few seconds, as the horde enters the kitchen, she looks down at one of the teens sardonically.

"Well...drive."

The truck lurches out of the car wash, and Niki happily taps the remote with her butcher blade. The diner explodes, and she raises the blade in victory.

3. Don't store it in its imitation leather cover for long periods in damp places, since a cover can trap moisture against the blade.
4. Check now and then that the rope-wrapped handle is snug, and stop handling it if anything feels loose.
